Prospect Park Zoo

Well, it's officially Gayle and Amelia's last week in Hoboken. So we wanted to do something with them that was special. A City treat they had never experienced. So a group of us decided to head over to the Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn. I was the only one who had ever been there and it had been over a year. So, I was crossing my fingers that my "portrait" of this cute zoo was still correct.

There were 6 of us with 9 kids in total (Stacy w/ Jeffrey and James, Desiree w/ Claire and Renee, Rebecca w/ Alexander and Olivia, Gayle w/ Amelia, Brenda w/ Clare and Me w/ Emma). It was an easy commute by PATH/Subway from Hoboken at it was well worth the trip.

There was so much to see and do. But at the same time everything was on a "small scale". So it wasn't overwhelming. It was perfect for toddlers. There were fish, turtles, sea lions, kangaroos, monkeys, prairie dogs, merkatts, a petting zoo and more.

A large part of the exhibits were well landscaped trails. So the kids could roam free and be up close and personal with the animals at the same time.

I think my favorite part was seeing our City Kids milk the fake cows.

All 9 of the kids did really well. My favorite James even helped his mother by pushing his own double stroller. Too cute!

All and all, it was a great trip! We'll have to go again soon.
